Strip sod or old turf and excavate 4–6 inches of soil.

Drainage decides whether your turf stays clean and stable through a Pacific Northwest winter — or pools, settles, and develops odour. We spec the right system for your soil, slope, and use case.
Light use
Single-Layer
Compacted crushed gravel base. Ideal for dry sites, small areas, and budget-conscious DIY projects with naturally well-draining soil.

Dual-Layer
Coarse 3/4″ base for water dispersion, finer crusher fines on top for a stable, level surface. Our standard residential build.

Clear crush reservoir, road base, and crusher dust top. Built for heavy traffic, pet zones, and sites with poor existing drainage.

Why It Matters
Installation Quality Is The Whole Game
Most artificial turf failures don’t start on installation day — they start when corners are cut on excavation, base compaction, drainage, or seam construction. A premium roll on a poor base will still fail.
Our crews follow the same documented Premium Grass Blades methodology used on residential, strata, and childcare projects across BC: 4–6″ excavation, layered drainage base, weed barrier, properly seamed turf, and infill brought up in passes to the manufacturer’s spec weight.
Common Failures We Don’t Make
- Skipping the seam roller — turf separates within a season
- Overstretching turf on warm days — visible gaps appear when it cools
- Under-filling infill — fibres flatten in months, not years
- No weed barrier or wrong drainage — odour, weeds, and pooling
- Cheap perimeter nailing — edges lift after the first frost
