Putting Green Turf — Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Roll speed depends on the turf model, the infill level, and how the surface is maintained. Most home greens roll between 8-11 on the Stimpmeter, but speed can be increased or decreased by adjusting infill depth and brushing direction.

It depends on your green's size and shape, plus a buffer for fringe and cutting. Send us your dimensions and we'll calculate the right quantity.

Putting greens use a high-purity, kiln-dried silica (we stock a 50-100 grit) graded to control green speed and ball roll. Apply roughly 2-4 lbs per square foot and top-dress annually.

Yes — many customers build their own greens. We supply the turf, infill, cups, and accessories and guide you on base prep, contouring, cup placement, and roll tuning.

More infill and brushing against the grain slows the roll; less infill and brushing with the grain speeds it up. Small adjustments let you dial in your preferred Stimp speed.

Yes — our putting turf is designed to drain freely through the backing, so greens stay playable and don't pool in BC's wet weather.

At minimum a cup and sleeve system, the right silica infill, and flags. Optional extras include an LED cup light and a shock pad. See our Putting Green Accessories page for the full range.

Brush periodically to keep blades upright, top-dress infill annually to maintain speed, and rinse or spot-clean as needed. Minimal upkeep keeps the roll true for years.
